Panels
Panel 1: Shaping Up 6G: Drivers, Use-Cases and KPI Requirements

Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Description:
With each new generation of wireless, it is common to determine its capabilities and limits even before the technology is introduced. As 5G is deployed and standardized around the globe, industry is eager to explore and begin developing a consensus around 6G and its key performance indicators (KPIs), including roughly 1 Tbps system capacity, user plane latency of <0.1ms, and per-user data rate of few Gbps.
With much to debate around the use cases and KPIs that will eventually give meaning to 6G, this panel invites experts from across industry and academia to discuss the use-cases that will be enabled by 6G, including volumetric media streaming, connected industries and automation, multi-sensory extended reality, and eHealth, as well as the from a political, economic, social, and technical drivers that will help shape consensus-driven KPIs for 6G.

Moderator: TBD

Panelists:
Afif Oseiran, Vice-Chairman of Board at 5G-ACIA, Bosch
Walid Saad, Professor, Virginia Tech
Format: 60 min panel discussion (5 min panelist presentations, panel discussion, audience Q&A)

Panel 2: Understanding the 6G Tech Landscape

Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 11:45a.m – 12:45 p.m.

Description:
The demands of our hyper-connected, fully digitized, and data-driven intelligent society are pushing the capabilities of 5G technology to its limits. Beyond 5G (B5G) moves beyond the technologies that shaped 5G to create a pathway for the 6G technologies will make hyper-connected world possible.
B5G evolution tracks industry trends like a movement higher frequency bands, fusion of wireless with AI/ML, edge and cloud native computing, and more offer clues to what 6G technologies may look like in the future. Panelists will explore different ways to reimagine wireless network architecture to support new KPIs and encourage the evolution of the architecture to support 6G.

Moderator: TBD

Panelists:
Roger Nichols, 5G Program Manager, Keysight
Prabhakar Chitrapu, Head of Small Cell Forum, AT&T
Takehiro Nakamura, SVP and General Manager, NTT DOCOMO
Format: 60 min panel discussion (5 min panelist presentations, panel discussion, audience Q&A)
