Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 1:45 p.m. – 2:55 p.m. EST
The advent of 5G has brought the introduction of cloud native platforms, the disaggregation of radio access networks, and a paradigm shift towards openness – at the expense of complexity and increased operational expertise needed by traditional telco operators. Future 6G testbeds must prioritize the integration of multiple access technologies, and to do so, may consider a more solutions-focused approach. The testbed needs will be discussed from the perspective of enabling technology providers, including those who construct components of the platform infrastructure, providers of device firmware, middleware, and hardware to create an entire system platform, and application engineers create the products that run on it.
This panel will investigate approaches to advance the Platform as a Service (PaaS) model for testbeds and develop approaches to take necessary steps for creating an infrastructure platform that can be application agnostic.
